Student Opportunities

Get Involved

Practicum and internships are an important part of the development of future professionals. To enrich the experience of practicum students, Project ARK and The SPOT offers practicum and internship opportunities. Practicum students and interns provide an important resource to ensure that Project ARK and The SPOT can further the mission.  We seek students committed to social justice and health.  We accept students from a variety of disciplines including: social work, public health, nursing, and related fields.

We require a two consecutive semester commitment. One exception exists to this rule and that is in cases where a specific project may benefit the work of the agency. These exceptions will need to be reviewed by members of the leadership team.

As a program of Washington University School of Medicine all students will be required to complete the non-appointee process. This process will require the completion of an on-line HIPAA training, record of immunizations, and completion of the confidentiality agreement. Some students with evaluation and research interests may also be required to complete the CITI training. CITI is a web based human research protections training program created by the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative. For more information please see the following: http://hrpohome.wustl.edu/study_team/CITI/HRPO_CITI.aspx
