Youth Advocacy Committee

The Youth Advocacy Committee (YAC) works to promote the holistic values of positive youth development and youth voice, for awareness of HIV/AIDS and sexual health. We believe that with accurate information and consistent support youth are capable of  making change, directing their own activity, and taking responsibility with regards to HIV prevention and sexual health.

As youth leadership program, YAC, serves as a peer education program for the community as well as a resource to community stakeholders seeking to enhance the health and well-being of youth and young adults. As a resource to community stakeholders we assert that any efforts to improve the health and well-being of youth requires that all young people have access to services, supports, and opportunities to develop a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging, and empowerment.

Applications for YAC are accepted throughout the year. All participants must be 13-24 years of age. We encourage the participation of youth of all genders, races, sexual orientations, ability levels, communities, and experiences of HIV. For more information, please email projectark@kids.wustl.edu. Please include YAC in the header of the email.
