Practicum and internships are an important part of the development of future professionals. To enrich the experience of practicum students, Project ARK and The SPOT offers practicum and internship opportunities. Practicum students and interns provide an important resource to ensure that Project ARK and The SPOT can further the mission. We seek students committed to social justice and health. We accept students from a variety of disciplines including: social work, public health, counseling, and related fields.
We generally require a two consecutive semester commitment but can consider shorter term placements. As a program of Washington University School of Medicine, all students will be required to complete the non-appointee process. This process will require the completion of an online HIPAA training, record of immunizations, drug and background checks, and completion of the confidentiality agreement.
Practicum experiences may include:
- Case Management
- Mental Health Intake and Counseling
- Substance Abuse Prevention
- HIV Prevention Community Education and Mobilization
