Project ARK Community Advisory Board (CAB) was developed in 1997 and we are always looking for new members!
PART D CAB MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Part D/ Project ARK Community Advisory Board is to support all aspects of program planning, implementation, and evaluation for comprehensive services for HIV infected & affected children, youth, women and their families and to support prevention of new HIV –infection among this population.

The CAB has been active in helping to improve Project ARK’s programs and services in many ways. Examples of programs the CAB has helped to plan include:
- Planning Eat & Learns- The CAB selects topics to improve health/mental health and lunch is provide. Past topics have included:
- Disclosure
- Depression
- Adherence
- Hepatitis & HIV
- Understanding Lab Values
- Consumer Quality Improvement – Evaluating quality care for clinic setting and provider roles. Providing feedback on QI activities.
- Women’s Services Strategic Planning
PART C CONSUMER ADVISORY BOARD
Washington University’s Infectious Diseases Clinic’s Ryan White Part C program has a consumer advisory board called “Clinic CAB”.
Clinic CAB is a meeting where clinic patients (aka “consumers”) meet together with clinic leadership staff:
- To offer advice about how to improve HIV care in the clinic
- To review quality management reports
- To discuss current issues and challenges for people living with HIV/AIDS
CLINIC CAB MISSION STATEMENT
“The Washington University ID Clinic Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) consists of consumers, community members and staff. Our mission is to work in partnership to provide and receive guidance and input regarding daily operations, quality improvement initiatives, and evaluation of programs and services to address the needs of persons living with HIV/AIDS served by this clinic.”
